2023-2024 Project Learning
This year, Primary 5 and Primary 6 students have launched a thematic project on the topic of "China's Modern Development". Through this project, students are able to explore various aspects of the country's development, including the reasons, process, achievements, impact, as well as the connection with Hong Kong, thereby enhancing their understanding and national identity, and fostering a patriotic spirit.
This project aims to create a self-directed learning environment for students, to uncover their potential, and to cultivate generic skills such as collaboration, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, information technology application, self-management, and creativity. At the same time, it echoes the school's focus on nurturing students' "national sentiment and patriotism". Through this project, students can gain a comprehensive understanding of China's modern development, feel proud of being Chinese, and strengthen their sense of belonging and patriotism.
The teachers believe that through the thematic project, students have developed more positive cognition, a stronger sense of belonging, and enhanced patriotism towards China and the people. Additionally, the teachers observed that students were able to comprehend the research topic more holistically, and engage in in-depth analysis and reflection. Students were diligent and engaged in the research process, analyzing and synthesizing the collected information, and actively discussing with teachers and classmates, which had a positive and constructive impact on the students.
